Geothermal Geo exchange and ground source are the popular terms used for referring to the systems of heating and cooling. The source of heating and cooling of the ground surface is highly reliable and economical to all users of the geothermal heat pump. This advanced technology has the advantage of using the capacity of the earth for storage of energy.

The energy of the earth can be stored in the form of heat. Geothermal heat exchangers do not require any fuel for heating purposes. Heat is obtained from the surface of the earth. This heat is taken in to the building and again sent back to the earth from the building. This process is called geo exchange.

The operation of the pumps, fans and controls require less electricity and compressors. The main component required for these heat pumps are the heat exchangers. The geothermal heat pump performs the cooling and heating process by getting adequate heat from the connection of the ground loop. Due to the presence of the compressor in the heat pump the ground surface does not require warmth.  This ground loop system functions very effectively in the United States of America.

The geothermal heat exchanger will be effective for those places where the earth works are needed to be installed at an outdoor or external enclosure. Though there may be seasonal and climatic changes the temperature of the earth remains constant at a certain level of depth. The hot air, which prevails within the enclosure, is forced through the pipe with the help of axial or radial fan.

The pipeline that is laid under the surface of the ground tends to cool down the air and the enclosure. The temperature of the air that is present within the pipeline system rises and this in turn helps to achieve the effect of heating. The outlet and the inlet valve of the pipeline are positioned in such a way that they avoid the spot of the heat. The discharge and the inlet of the air can be fixed upon the base of the plinth or in the roof according to the purpose of the application.

There are certain distinguished advantages of the geothermal heat exchanger. The polluted air cannot penetrate in to the enclosure due to the sealing in the ventilation system. This prevents the regression in the humidity and reduces pollutants from entering the enclosure. Fan motors operate at various voltages.
Only minimum energy is required as the axial or the radial fan regularizes the supply of the air flow.  Maintenance of the fan is very economical. Noise pollution can be effectively reduced since the climatic control components are not mounted outside the building.
